It’s all about

relationships.

Relationship counselling in Loughborough. Talking helps.

Our relationships with partners, family, friends, and colleagues shape so much of how we feel about ourselves and our lives. When they’re difficult, it can affect everything – and often the patterns we fall into are older than the relationship itself.

At Charnwood Counselling, we work with individuals navigating all kinds of relational challenges – from the slow drift of disconnection to the sharp pain of conflict, betrayal or loss. We offer a space to explore what’s happening and find a way forward.

Is therapy for me?

People come to therapy for all sorts of reasons. Sometimes there’s a clear issue, and other times it’s just a sense that something isn’t quite right. Here are some of the things we often hear:

  • I keep having the same argument, no matter how hard I try
  • I feel disconnected from my partner – like we’re going through the motions
  • I find it hard to trust, even when there’s no obvious reason
  • I lose myself in relationships and don’t know who I am without others
  • I’m going through a separation or divorce and I’m struggling
  • My family relationships are complicated and painful
  • I have a pattern of difficult relationships and I don’t know why
  • I struggle to set boundaries or say what I really need
  • I’ve been hurt by someone I trusted
  • I find intimacy emotional or physical difficult

How can therapy help?

Therapy offers a space to slow down, reflect, and work things through. Over time, it can help you to:

  • Understand the patterns in your relationships and where they come from
  • Communicate more clearly and feel more understood
  • Work through conflict without it damaging the relationship further
  • Rebuild trust after it’s been broken
  • Set healthier boundaries with the people in your life
  • Find your own identity within relationships
  • Navigate separation or family change with more clarity
  • Break cycles that have followed you from relationship to relationship
  • Develop a more secure and confident way of relating to others
